The Daily Telegraph reports that students are campaigning against the use of social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook on university computers because they cannot get their work done.
Final-year students have complained the computers were being monopolised by people spending too much time on the sites.
The students' union at Bournemouth University is to display polite notices asking people to consider others and marking certain computers for academic use only.
Miguel Dias, a final-year field archaeology student, told Wire, the student paper: "I come into university at 9am to work on my dissertation thinking I've beaten the crowd to the computers and I still can't get on them because people are on Facebook." Full story >>
I heard on the radio today that some recruiters will now routinely check out a candidate's Facebook page. Apparently, it tells them much more than a standard CV/Resume.
