In a TV documentary to be broadcast next Monday on the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s accession, David Cameron, the 12th Prime Minister of the Queen’s reign, says: “She’s seen and heard it all, but I think she wants to be in a position where she knows everything that’s going on… she asks you well-informed and brilliant questions that make you think about the things you’re doing.” In this cartoon from the Daily Express, Paul Thomas connects this comment with yesterday's EU summit, where Cameron met French president Nicolas Sarkozy for the first time since they fell out over Cameron's use of the veto at the last EU summit back in December. The Queen tells Cameron, "You can borrow the corgis if you want to stand up to Sarkozy." (Corgis are the Queen's favourite dog, and she has several of them. However, corgis can be aggressive and the Queen's corgis have been known to bite.)
