This cartoon by Schrank from The Independent on Sunday relates to news that some 3,500 British troops are being called in to help fill the gap in security after British security group G4S bungled the contract to help protect the 2012 Olympic Games.
In an image full of symbols and metaphors, a perspiring soldier is shown inflating a patched-up-but-still-leaking Olympic ring (labelled 'Security'). A G4S guard walks away from the scene throwing a piece of paper (the Olympic security contract?) on the ground. Dark skies threaten overhead. In the background we can see the Olympic Stadium and the ArcelorMittal Orbit tower.
If you get a puncture in your bike tyre (or a flat tyre), you will need to patch (or replace) the inner tube. You will then have to inflate your tyre with a pump (or pump/blow it up).
