Two prisoners (or 'inmates') are sitting in an old-fashioned prison cell (bunk beds, barred windows, slop bucket, etc.). One of the prisoners is consoling his cellmate, who is crying uncontrollably. The reason? He's spent twenty-five years building an escape tunnel, and has just learnt that the prison is to be closed (from the newspaper on the table).
