Mac's cartoon shows the Royal Life Guards riding into Buckingham Palace in London after the Changing the Guard ceremony at Horse Guards Parade. However, the Guards' horses are missing. One of the watching tourists comments, "I believe the police are checking the local abattoirs". The suggestion is that the horses have slaughtered for use in burgers, kebabs, lasagne, etc., etc.
VOCABULARY
