The cartoon by Mac from the Daily Mail shows a housewife emptying the contents of a wheelie bin into a saucepan. She tells her husband, who is sitting at the table ready to eat, "Dinner won’t be long, dear. I had to pop down the road to get some vegetables."
When the woman says that she had to "pop down the road to get some vegetables", the man, who can't see what she's doing, probably thinks she went to the shops. In fact, she has taken someone else's bin, having read the article about food waste in the paper which is on the ironing board.
See if you can spot the following items in the cartoon: cooker rings, iron, apron, kettle, ironing, bread board, sink, ironing board, dirty dishes, taps, rubbish, washing up, loaf, table cloth, knife.
