This cartoon by Peter Brookes from The Times is a comment on people's disillusionment with the political class in Britain today. The scene is the Returned Items Counter at a store. This is where people return goods in order to receive a refund (unwanted Christmas presents, for example). The first two customers are returning clothes items, but the next four are carrying politicians: David Cameron, the Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, Deputy PM and leader of the Liberal Democrats, Ed Miliband, leader of the Labour Party, and Ed Balls, Labour Party Shadow Chancellor. The message is that all the main political parties are unpopular at the moment.
The two Eds, Miliband and Balls, are caricatured as the famous claymation comedy duo Wallace and Gromit.
