Always a pleasure to be drawing a Russian general again. I haven’t really drawn one since the Cold War ended, but it’s interesting to see how it all comes back with pen and ink. Muscle memory, I guess. In reality, Vlad The Annexer has two daughters who are grown but I’m using my first class commercial cartoonist’s license to portray one of them as a little girl.
He adds that "tit-for-tat sanctioning individuals here and there" is "an odd way to punish a nation", a view which is illustrated by the cartoon.
