I haven't been on the BBC Learning English website for a few weeks, so I was surprised to discover today that it's had a complete makeover. I suppose it was long overdue, but the old site contained an incredible amount of valuable learning resources, and I couldn't believe that it had all disappeared. As it turned out, I needn't have worried since the old site is still available here (for how long, I've no idea). Anyway, the new site features an excellent lower-intermediate video-based course, and a few old favourites such as Words in the News and 6 Minute English. At the moment, the new site looks a bit minimalist compared to the old one, but it says here that new types of material and new features will be added over the coming months.
One interesting new feature is the Learning Circles, which are a chance for you to help your family and friends learn English. You are the group leader. Follow the links in each session to download the different materials. They will take your group through the everyday English they need to survive in the UK. Find out more here.
