TweenTribune is a free online daily news service for kids offered by the Smithsonian that includes text, photos, graphics, and audio and/or video materials about current events, history, art, culture and science.
TweenTribune (don't be put off by the name!) is similar to Newsela, which I reviewed a few days ago. However, whereas Newsela offers articles at five different reading levels, TweenTribune has different articles at nine 'lexile levels'. Although not primarily aimed at learners of English, both sites represent a fantastic source of reading material for ESL/EFL students and teachers alike.
