OVERVIEW
Elemental English is a website developed by Larissa Majlessi, a teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL), to help people around the world learn English. Larissa has a Masters in Applied Linguistics and has taught graduate, undergraduate and professional students from around the world at some of the top universities in America. The main focus of the website is the English video lessons covering pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary (you can find them all in one place on the Elemental English YouTube channel), but there's also a podcast and a 'How to' section, featuring tips on ways to improve communication skills. REVIEW
I was really impressed with Elemental English. The site is attractively designed, and the videos are extremely well produced with all sorts of clever animations to highlight key language points and keep the viewer interested. Larissa herself is an engaging presenter (read an interview with her here), and has some interesting stories to tell. The only negative point is the ads which can be a bit intrusive at times. Still, when you've put as much work into a project as Larissa clearly has, you deserve to have some reward. The only other option would be some sort of 'freemium' model (like Espresso English, for example). Highly recommended!
